Ride for Refuge 2017

The rainy weather cleared up for everyone on RIDE day as participants went the distance for refuge and hope.

Having exceeded their original goal of $2,800, the Hungry Pedalers went the extra mile and increased their goal to $4,000 moments before RIDE day.

Thanks to our generous supporters, the Hungry Pedalers raised nearly $4,000 for Sources Langley Food Bank, and made for one of the top three teams to raise the most funds at the Fort Langley RIDE. Thank you to our community members who showed their support for a much-needed resource in our community.

In small teams, the kids entered a fun and friendly competition to see which group could demonstrate the finest entrepreneurship skills. On top of excellent customer service, all proceeds went towards SOURCES’ programming. And guess what? They raised over 300 DOLLARS. Bravo, Young Entrepreneurs!

When Giving Back isn’t a Challenge: help Volunteer Wheels win $10,000

For most of us, getting to and from medical appointments is not an issue: we drive ourselves, arrange for a friend or family member to take us, take public transit, hire a taxi or walk. However, these options are often not that simple for seniors. To address this, Sources Community Resources Society (SOURCES) launched its Volunteer Wheels Program in 2009. Carried out by volunteers, White Rock/South Surrey seniors have an affordable, accessible and reliable means to get to their healthcare appointments – anywhere in the Lower Mainland.

“The Rotary Save-On-Foods gift card program was introduced in June of 2016 to raise funds for our local Food Bank. As a result of the incredible support of our community, more than $64,000 has been raised for the purchase of nutritious food for people in need. We are committed to continue this program with the generous support of Save-On-Foods and our new Food Bank Partners,” said John Block, founder of The Block Charitable Foundation.
