Donors’ Rights

Donations
All donors are entitled to receive an official receipt for income tax purposes for the donations valued at $25 or more. Donors of in-kind gifts are entitled to receive an official receipt only in accordance with the rules of Canada Revenue Agency. The CFO shall determine if a gift is receiptable.

Be assured that information about your donation is handled with respect.

To know who is on the governing board and to expect the board to exercise prudent judgment in its responsibilities.

To expect all relationships with individuals representing the organization to be respectful.

To have access to our most recent financial statements.

To know whether those seeking donations are volunteers or employees.

To be assured your gift will be used for the purpose for which it was given.

To have the opportunity to remove your name from mailing lists.

To receive appropriate acknowledgement and recognition.
