On a sunny December afternoon, nearly 45 women came together at Sources Women’s Place to enjoy the highly anticipated annual Christmas Lunch. Volunteers dished up turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes, vegetables and buttered bread for every person in line – and of course, gravy and cranberry sauce to top it all off.
The meal was generously cooked by Morgan Creek Golf Course, who have been supplying the Annual Christmas Lunch for 10 years!
With full bellies and happy hearts, the women chatted with their friends over dessert. The energy level turned up a notch when staff circled from room to room singing Christmas carols. Many of the women joined in, clapping and singing, as classics such as Jingle Bells, Frosty the Snowman and Feliz Navidad were sung.
The tasty food, dear company and harmonious holiday tunes made for a merry afternoon. As one attendee said to a staff member that day:
“This is my home. Not my house – my home.”
Through our resources, programs and support, Sources Women’s Place aims to improve the lives of women and their families. Our staff wish our community a safe, warm and happy holiday season.

The Young Entrepreneur (YE) Learning Labs’ lemonade is the perfect way to quench your thirst and support SOURCES this summer. On July 14th, 2017, YE Learning Labs hosted their Lemonade Stand Challenge in front of South Surrey Recreation & Arts Centre. In small teams, the kids entered a fun and friendly competition to see which group could demonstrate the finest entrepreneurship skills. On top of excellent customer service, all proceeds went towards SOURCES’ programming. And guess what? They raised over 300 DOLLARS. Bravo, Young Entrepreneurs!
