This Saturday, Sources Foundation (SOURCES) will be hosting the fifth annual Coldest Night of the Year (CNOY) White Rock WALK. Bringing the event to life, however, requires team work: a fleet of staff and volunteers, public participation and enthusiasm, and of course, community sponsors. This year’s White Rock WALK is fortunate to have two lead sponsors, one of which is HomeLife Benchmark Realty – White Rock (HomeLife).
“With our sales force of over 100 realtors, we continue to give back to the community,” said Cindy Walker, Tina Landert and Leanne de Souza of HomeLife.
“The Coldest Night of Year White Rock WALK will be raising funds for Sources Homeless Prevention & Rent Bank. Their services include providing micro-loans, personal asset building, counselling and coaching. These help keep families in homes and we at HomeLife are very proud to be part of this worthwhile cause.”
“We can all help those that are struggling to get on their feet,” said Walker, Landert and de Souza. “We live in a smaller community here in White Rock/South Surrey and with our community’s contribution – whether it be financial or joining us on the walk – will have a positive effect! We’re looking forward to seeing everyone on February 24.”

This year’s event will start at 3 p.m. – an hour earlier than previous years – making it more convenient for participants’ schedules. The WALK will begin at Sources Peace Arch Resource Centre (882 Maple St., White Rock) and travel along the scenic promenade and pier. Sponsored coffee, tea, hot chocolate, hot dogs, turkey barley soup and other treats will be served at the start, at rest stops and at the finish line.
As of the afternoon of Tuesday, February 20, only 46% of SOURCES’ fundraising goal has been raised. With only four days until WALK day, SOURCES is calling community members to participate and donate to this year’s WALK. Please click on the button below to see event details, register and/or donate!
