Golfing with a Social Purpose

On September 24, 2017, the White Rock Auxiliary Firefighters got out their golf clubs and hit the driving range – with a social purpose. Their 2nd annual Charity Golf Tournament was hosted at Nico Wynd Golf Course, with all proceeds benefitting Sources Women’s Place.

The White Rock Auxiliary Firefighters presented a $2,500 cheque to Director of Sources Women’s Place, Denise Darrell.

“We have deep gratitude in receiving this generous gift,” said Darrell. “Their donation will help women and children rebuild their lives.”

When asked what programming at Women’s Place the money would go towards, Darrell said:

“The $2,500 translates into approximately 1,250 free hot lunches – or about four months of meals. As our client demographic seldom has access to nutritious meals, this means that we can provide some food security in their lives. We thank the White Rock Auxiliary Firefighters for helping us do this.”
