“The Rotary Save-On-Foods gift card program was introduced in June of 2016 to raise funds for our local Food Bank. As a result of the incredible support of our community, more than $64,000 has been raised for the purchase of nutritious food for people in need. We are committed to continue this program with the generous support of Save-On-Foods and our new Food Bank Partners,” said John Block, founder of The Block Charitable Foundation.
Our favourite winter walkathon returned to the White Rock waterfront on February 25, 2017 and it was our most successful Coldest Night of the Year fundraiser yet!
Over $85,400 was fundraised for Sources Community Resource Centres’ Homelessness Prevention Services and Rent Bank, exceeding way beyond our $70,000 goal. This was Sources’ fourth year hosting the White Rock walk.

Forty-six thousand five hundred and fifty-three dollars – that is how much has been fundraised so far in the Coldest Night of the Year walkathon in White Rock, hosted by Sources Community Resources Society. The mission of the Sources Food Bank is to provide nutritious food and support to community members in need, raise awareness about poverty and involve the community in solutions. Its mandate is to provide enough food for each person in our community for at least two days per week; there is additional support for school-age children and babies. Learn more on our Food Bank page.
