South Surrey, B.C. – April 29, 2026 – Over 200 guests gathered at Audi Langley last Friday to celebrate the strength and resilience of women at Sources Foundation’s (Sources) charity fashion show, In Her Shoes. The event exceeded its fundraising goal generating over $160,000.
The sold-out event was Sources’ fourth annual show in support of Women’s Place, a drop-in program serving women and their children experiencing abuse, poverty, isolation or trauma. Located in South Surrey, the centre welcomes all self-identified women (including cis, trans, two-spirit) and their families. Last year alone, Women’s Place had 4,000 visits, many of which received a hot meal, a warm place to spend the day, or access shower and laundry. The funds raised last year enabled the resource centre to assist women as they fled unsafe living situations and worked to rebuild their lives.
At the heart of In Her Shoes are the models who are Women’s Place clients, volunteers and staff. As each model takes to the runway, she shares a piece of her journey, reminding us of the power of women. This year, 13 incredible women dressed in outfits curated by Turnabout Luxury Resale shared their stories that brought them to Women’s Place.
“The women who stepped forward didn’t just walk a runway, they trusted us with their stories,” says David MacIntyre, President & CEO of Sources Foundation. “Their courage reminds us why this work matters and why we must continue to show up for women and families in our community.”
Virgin Radio’s Nira Arora brought style and charm as the emcee. Auctioneer Howard A. Blank led the fundraising and live auction, helping inspire generous support. Event co-chairs Sara Forte and Jennine Cook shared their experience working alongside staff to prepare the models with care and intention for the show, while Executive Director Corina Carroll offered insight into the day-to-day impact of Women’s Place. The evening closed with guests receiving handpicked bouquets, sponsored by West Coast Gardens.
Sources Foundation extends its sincere gratitude to presenting sponsor White Rock Optometry, couture sponsor Turnabout Luxury Resale, venue sponsor Audi Langley, and all sponsors, donors, volunteers and guests who supported this important cause.
Community members can still support Women’s Place by donating at Trellis.org/inhershoes2026. Supporters can also participate by purchasing Audi car raffle and 50/50 raffle tickets for a chance to win while helping women and families in the community.
