Morgan’s Public House was packed on June 4 to a sold-out fundraiser dinner hosted by the Rotary Club of White Rock Peninsula. Approximately 120 people attended, including three Sources staff, to raise money for various international charitable projects as well as Sources’ Hot Lunch Program at Women’s Place.

We are pleased to officially announce that our Essentials to Housing Support Services have been approved for $322,826 through the Government of Canada’s Homelessness Partnering Strategy (HPS) by Metro Vancouver. This will help cover the program’s operating expenses over 18 months and enable the Sources Community Resource Centres to continue providing advocacy and support services to help people in our community stay safe, secure and well in their own homes. Most people don’t think they will ever be homeless. Certainly, no one plans or wants to be homeless. But sometimes, something out of your control happens and you find yourself on the cusp of losing your home.
That’s what happened to Nick Seguin. At 26 years old, Nick was living on his own in a basement suite in Surrey, working at a call centre and taking classes for school. He never missed a payment on his rent, until June 2014, when he suddenly got sick. Read More…

‘Tis the season of giving! On December 10, 2014, Sources held its annual holiday fundraiser Season of Trees at the Sheraton Vancouver Guildford Hotel in Surrey. Ken and Bonnie Fletcher have been decorating their South Surrey house with a dazzling assortment of Christmas lights for 17 years. Ten years ago they began collecting donations for Sources Community Resource Centres’ White Rock/South Surrey Food Bank, after a friend suggested they do something with their amazing display to help the community in some way.
