Every Spring for the past two decades, Sources has put on a highly anticipated Gala to raise money for our social wellness programs. With this year being the Gala’s 20th anniversary, the chosen theme had to be the Roaring Twenties!
From “Gold Rush” to “Vegas” to “Flashback to the Sixties,” every Gala has boasted a different theme, transporting guests across time and space. Over the years, the galas have raised approximately $1 million for Sources.
We are pleased to report that this year was our most successful gala yet! Over $87,000 was raised in support of our homeless prevention services and Rent Bank!
The gala was held on April 11, 2015 at the Hazelmere Golf & Country Club in South Surrey. It was well-attended by over 200 community leaders, businesspersons, patrons, supporters and friends.
Actors and actresses from Peninsula Productions, dressed up as gangsters, flappers, cops and dancers, entertained guests throughout the evening.
Carmen Ruiz y Laza of JoyTV emceed. Notable auctioneer Howard Blank commanded the live auction after a delicious sit-down buffet dinner. Other activities included a silent auction, buy-it-now restaurant board, blackjack tables, 50/50, raffle, and Best Costume Prizes for male and female.
It was wonderful to see so many people dressed to the nines in their 1920’s garb and enjoying the spirit of the evening!
Thank you to our amazing guests, sponsors, donors, staff, volunteers and the caring community for making our 2015 Gala a “Roaring” success! With your help, we will be able to help more people in our community stay safe, warm and housed.
We hope we can count on your support again next year, as we work towards preventing homelessness and creating social wellness in our community!
