Fashion with a Purpose: Sources Foundation’s In Her Shoes Raises over $160,000 for Women’s Place

APRIL 30, LANGLEY, B.C. – The community came together in style on April 25, 2025, for Sources Foundation’s In Her Shoes charity fashion show, successfully exceeding its $160,000 fundraising goal in support of Women’s Place. Located in South Surrey, Women’s Place offers a safe, supportive environment and essential services for women and their children. The event was a powerful celebration of resilience, hope, and community spirit—making it a truly unforgettable evening.

Held at Audi Langley, the evening was masterfully emceed by 94.5 Virgin Radio’s Nira Arora, who brought energy and warmth to the runway. The live auction was a highlight, led by the ever-charismatic Howard A. Blank, whose dynamic style inspired guests to open their hearts for the cause. DJ Barron S kept the energy pumped throughout the night.

The runway featured an inspiring lineup of models made up of staff, clients, and volunteers. With courage and grace, many shared their personal journeys of resilience, illustrating how Women’s Place has been a life-changing support system.

“In Her Shoes is more than just a fashion show – it’s a celebration of strength and a lifeline for many women,” said David MacIntyre, President & CEO of Sources Foundation. “I would like to give thanks to our incredible sponsors, volunteers, and guests for coming out in support of Women’s Place.”

In Her Shoes is critical in ensuring the sustainability of Women’s Place. Without any government funding, the program relies solely on donations and events like this one to continue offering essential support services to women facing barriers and violence. Event Co-Chairs Sara Forte and Courtney Robichaud shared their gratitude: “We are overwhelmed by the love and generosity shown by this community. In Her Shoes is powered by people who believe in creating safe spaces and empowering women—and last Friday proved just how strong that belief is.”

We extend our deepest thanks to our generous sponsors, auction donors and volunteers whose support made the show possible. Special appreciation goes to Presenting Sponsor White Rock Optometry for their continued, unwavering commitment to this cause. We are also grateful to Martini Construction, a top sponsor year after year, for once again stepping up in a significant way.
