Residents at White Rock’s Victoria Terrace condominium building gathered in early February for a roving potluck dinner party, where attendees brought food and donated a minimum of $20 each to our local White Rock/South Surrey Food Bank.
Organizer Sandy Byer calls the initiative “Feast for Friends” and hopes to see the concept spread to other communities and eventually across the world.
Their website states, “Whether the dinner is for 6 or 60 people, why not consider hosting one of your own? Feasts For Friends is a wonderful opportunity to Give and Give while having a great time.”
Byer noted in an interview with PULSE FM that their strata, CrossRoads Management, agreed to match the funds they raised!
The first of many “Feast for Friends” was a success, and on Monday February 25, five women dropped by our Food Bank to present a cheque of over $3,000 to Food Bank Manager Jaye Murray.
Thank you to the organizers and participants of “Feast for Friends” and to CrossRoads Management!
