Basics for Babies collects $54,600 for Food Banks BC

Sources Langley Food Bank filled up a 3-ton truck with baby items between us and the Surrey Food Bank at the 2016 Basics for Babies fundraiser on December 18, 2016.

Thank you to everyone who came out to the Langley Events Centre between 11am-4pm that day for JR’s Holiday Fun Day! The fundraiser brought in $54,600 in cash and over 7,000 lbs. of supplies for local food banks – a record-breaking amount!

Basics for Babies is an annual fundraiser organized by 93.7 JRfm benefiting food banks across the Lower Mainland. It was created in 1994 when the radio station recognized a chronic shortage of baby products at Lower Mainland Food Banks.

With the help of partners, Basics for Babies has raised over $2 million and hundreds of thousands of pounds of diapers, baby food, formula, pabulum, and other items. Learn more.
