Sources Langley Food Bank

Sources Langley Food Bank is an accredited Food Bank with Food Banks BC and Food Banks Canada.  We are a program of Sources Community Resources Society,  a non-profit agency which has been operating the South Surrey/White Rock Food Bank for over 30 years.


food-banks-canada-logoFood Banks BC approached Sources in 2014 and asked us to set up a food bank in Langley after the existing Langley Food Bank left the association.  Initially operating as a Depot out of the United Church in Langley, we opened our doors to clients in October 2014. In May 2019, we moved to a new location in the Township of Langley.

Who we serve

Individuals and families who live on a low income in the Langley area (0 Ave. to the Fraser River, east of  196th St. and west of 276th St.) are eligible to receive Food Bank services.

How to register

All adults(19+) must register in person during distribution hours with the following information:

  • Piece of I.D. (e.g. BCID, driver’s license, passport, student I.D.)
  • Proof of address (e.g. utility from last 2 months, current driver’s licence)
  • Proof of dependents (e.g. original Care Card or custody papers)

Our Mission

At Sources, we focus on improving social wellness for our community and social justice for all.  At the Sources Langley Food Bank, we do this with a strong belief in equal access to sufficient, safe and nutritious food from local sustainable food sources – what we call food security.

Our Services

As per guidelines from Food Banks BC, we provide a minimum two days of food per person each week and additional items for infants, preschoolers and school aged children as available.  Additional seasonal provisions include fresh local produce in the summer.

Sources Langley Food Bank relies entirely on the support of the community! We accept food and monetary donations (cash, cheque, credit and debit cards) at the following locations and times:

Food Donations

– At the Food Bank: Mondays-Thursdays 8:30 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. and Fridays 9 a.m. – 12 p.m.

– At Sources Head Office: 882 Maple Street, White Rock. Call: 604-531-6226

– At all local grocery stores.

Monetary Donations

If you would like to volunteer, please contact our volunteer office at: 604-542-4357. Our volunteers help out as drivers (for food pick up) and with sorting and distributing food on distribution day.
