Annual Thanksgiving Food Drive stocks Food Bank shelves

The BC Thanksgiving Food Drive took place in communities around the province on Saturday September 15, 2018.

According to Sources Food Banks Manager Jaye Murray, 11,144 lbs. of food was collected and donated to the White Rock/South Surrey Food Bank.

“This breaks last year’s donation by 1,000 lbs.,” Murray said.

Thank you to our community for giving generously, so that more people in need can put food on their tables this fall.

The BC Thanksgiving Food Drive began in 2009 in the City of Burnaby to assist the local Food Bank. It has now expanded province-wide and is able to assist dozens of community food banks, serving over 50 cities and many thousands of individuals and families in need throughout British Columbia.
