Imagination Library feels the love from fundraisers

More children were taken off the waitlist and enrolled into Sources’ Dolly Parton Imagination Library program thanks to our generous community this June.

All month long, Sources Volunteer Services participated in the Great Canadian Giving Challenge. Every $1 donated in June gave us 1 chance to win a $10,000 prize for our Imagination Library program.

Parents whose children are in the Program enthusiastically sent in photos and testimonials, which helped our fundraising efforts greatly. One parent wrote:

“These books mean so many things to our family. Not only do they foster my son’s love for reading but they give us a chance to spend time together, to talk about the topics the books bring up and to soak up these precious moments as a family. My youngest is now on the list to participate and we do hope the program can get more funding so he can also share in the excitement.” – Parent participant

Although we didn’t win this year, we raised more money than last year and consider our campaign a success. We know that the single most important activity for building success in reading is reading aloud to children at the earliest age. Thank you to everyone who donated and supported in other ways!

In addition, the Semiahmoo Rotary Club hosted their 29th Annual Charity Golf Tournament on June 21st at Morgan Creek Golf Course and we heard it was their most successful one yet! Thank you for choosing our Imagination Library program as the beneficiary this year. See event photos
