Sources Foundation officially launches

A new name, logo, board of directors and website has been revealed for the newly renamed Sources Community Resources Foundation (Sources Foundation), formerly Peace Arch Community Services (PACS) Foundation. Through fundraising efforts, bequests and donations from individuals, businesses and community groups, the Sources Foundation strives to provide the financial means for the Sources Resource Centres to promote their shared mission: Social Wellness in Our Community.

“It’s an exciting change for us,” said Sources CEO David Young, who also oversaw the inauguration of the Sources brand in 2010. “We believe the alignment of the name of the Foundation with the Resource Centres under the Sources identity will help us evolve into a stronger presence—one that donors can rely on to translate their dollars into impact that is local, visible, measurable and, most of all, helpful.”

The Sources Foundation was launched at a private event to 50 guests hosted by Jas Salh of HollisWealth on June 23. Several donors were recognized for their significant contributions to the Foundation, adding up to approximately $150,000 in the last six months. Five directors were elected to the board just prior to the launch.

The dedicated website, created over several months of hard work, was contracted to Thornley Creative Communications with a focus to online giving. Interested donors can choose to support one of four program areas: Poverty Relief, Families & Children, Community Support, or area of greatest need. One can easily make single or legacy donations, learn how to plan company or community fundraising initiatives and more.

“We tried to make it clear and simple for people to learn about what we do and support our work,” said Young.
