ABOUT THE CAUSE

Sources Foundation’s Signature Event is our biggest fundraiser of the year.

Join us November 2 for an out-of-this-world party that will have guests shake, rattle and roll to the top of pops. Poodle skirts and pompadours will be rocking the dance floor (with or without socks)!

THE CAUSE

This year, we are focusing on addressing the mental health of youth and young persons in our community. Those aged 12-24 account for the highest rates of mental health and/or substance use challenges in Canada. Sadly, over 200,000 young people in BC struggle with mental health issues each year, and less than 25% of them receive the mental health services they need. These are alarming statistics as this includes the youth in our community.

The good news is, we have a solution. We were selected to lead the development of Foundry South Surrey to serve the communities of South Surrey, White Rock and Cloverdale. What this means is we will be creating a brand-new centre that will transform the way health and social care is delivered to young people. This free walk-in centre will provide an integrated solution for those aged 12–24 to access the care they need in a safe, confidential and stigma free way. For the first time, services such as medical care, substance use support, mental health, and youth and family peer support will live under one roof.
