Back by Popular Demand, Charity Fashion Show In Her Shoes Returns to Raise Funds for a Second Year to Support Sources Women’s Place

South Surrey and White Rock, B.C. – April 15 2024 – In Her Shoes, a charity fashion show that made waves at its debut last year, is back for its second year. To be held April 25 at West Coast Gardens in Surrey, the fundraiser’s goal is to generate $100,000 for Sources Women’s Place. A community-funded centre operated by Sources Community Resources Society (SOURCES) in South Surrey/White Rock, Women’s Place offers free supports and resources to thousands of women in the community. Proceeds from the event will be used to increase the centre’s capacity and offer trauma counselling to more women.

“Women’s Place is like an anchor for women as they feel welcomed and taken care of in a judgement- free environment,” says Corina Carroll, Executive Director at SOURCES. “The goal of events like In Her Shoes is to build a sustainable future for our centre.”

In Her Shoes not only inspires guests with stories of resilience but also offers an evening of fun through fashion, food and lots of shopping. 94.5 Virgin Radio host Nira Arora will return as the emcee for the show. Directed by Fashion Director Jaida Hay and dressed in clothes generously provided by Turnabout Luxury Resale, SOURCES volunteers and clients will walk the runway. There will also be several chef-attended food stations, including The Sushi Lady, and West Coast Gardens will be sending guests off for the evening with take home floral bouquets.

“The response In Her Shoes received from the community last year encouraged us to come back and with a fresh theme, NEW BEGINNINGS,” say Co-chairs Sara Forte and Courtney Robichaud. “We are thankful to our presenting sponsor White Rock Optometry and all other sponsors for believing in our cause.”

Event organizers are urging the public to book their seats fast as only a few tickets remain. For those who can’t make it, SOURCES is running a 50/50 Raffle Draw to generate funds. A silent auction of over 70 items will be live April 15 and all are welcome to participate.
