Sources Langley Food Bank held a community event on December 16, 2016 to commemorate the community’s generous response to our truck theft last year.
Christmas music rang out onto the streets as our energetic snowman and elf mascots (wonderful volunteers!) danced, waving signs at passersby. Many drivers honked their horns while their passengers waved their support. Some even came by to drop off bags full of food, telling us they made the special trip after seeing us!
A group from Envision Financial came by with a $7,600 cheque for our food bank. Later, Susan Byrom from First West Foundation also dropped by with a cheque. Thank you very much for your generous support!
It was cold but we were kept warm by countless friendly faces, as well as the chili cooked by our Sources Cafe. There was also delicious hot chocolate, coffee, and sweet treats to share.
Special thanks to our friends at Westminster Savings who were present to collect donations for victims of the Paddington Station fire. The credit union is accepting donations at all of its branches (please reference account #333975101).
