Sheila’s serves feast for food bank clients

Thanks to Sheila’s Bistro and Lounge, dozens of clients of Sources South Surrey-White Rock Food Bank got to enjoy a delicious feast on December 22, 2015, just in time for Christmas.

The South Surrey restaurant closed early that day to prepare the meal. Staff volunteered their time and family members helped serve. Local businesses and regular customers also pitched in with cash and food donations.

Sources food bank manager Jaye Murray told the Peace Arch News that this dinner at Sheila’s was the only one on the Semiahmoo Peninsula specifically targeted to the food bank’s clients, some of whom may not experience another holiday feast this season.

Sheila, the restaurant owner, told the newspaper that her cost of hosting the dinner “doesn’t matter.”

“We all have time to give,” Sheila said.

Thank you so much for giving back to the community, and beyond that, feeding hungry neighbours and sharing Christmas cheer.

Special thanks to the donors who supported the dinner:
